Description
‘Homespun’
2Y-Y(a)
[Incomparabilis]
(G.H. Engleheart, pre-1901)
A vintage, once popular but now very rarely encountered “Yellow Incomp.”. Like a large ‘Autocrat’, but its perianth segments are broader, and open primrose-yellow before bleaching or ageing to sulphur-white. Its corona remains a bright yellow, and is regularly pleated; the closely dentate rim can be tinged amber on opening. Formerly sold by us as POOLEWE PINTUCK.
