“… those snowy Narcissi, with crimson bordered cups, which adorn so abundantly the flower markets of London in May…” (Haworth in Sweet’s British Flower Garden, 1833). A larger flower than N. poeticus var. hellenicus, with more slender, reflexed perianth segments, strongly incurving along the margins, but similar in colouring.
