Description
N. obvallaris Tenby Daffodil
13Y-Y
[Trumpet]
(True origin unknown: possibly Spain, pre-1796)
In his Handbook (1934), Bowles declared, “I regard N. obvallaris as the most perfect in proportion and texture of any deep yellow trumpet…”. Stems about a foot high, the flower is quite small: very neat and chunky, almost concolorous, with broadly-ovate perianth segments much shorter than the handsome, flanged trumpet with its distinctly-lobed rim.
