Description
‘Boswin’
1W-Y
[Bicolor Trumpet 1b]
(Williams, P.D., pre-1927)
A typically robust and vigorous “PD” cultivar, with a well-formed perianth and a sturdy, flanged trumpet: at first Dresden yellow flaring to a six-notched rim. As the flower matures, the trumpet becomes a softer, richer primrose-yellow and the margin becomes a recurved brim of broad, crenate lobules. The outer face of the milk-white perianth segments are streaked greenish gold along the midribs at first, but this colouring fades as the segments expand and recurve slightly. An early flowering bright, paler bicolour, which received an Award of Merit for “garden decoration” as late as 1946.
