‘J.B.M. Camm’
1W-Y
[Bicolor Trumpet]
(Backhouse, W., pre-1869; N. albescens × N. bicolor)
The Irish nurseryman, W.B. Hartland, considered this “elegantly formed, and most floriferous” bicolour the “Model of Perfection” in his 1896-7 catalogue. The slender pure white perianth segments are slightly hooded over the base of the long, straight, slightly chiselled, primrose-yellow trumpet, but the tips of the segments tend to recurve. The trumpet rim is divided into six, obscure and uneven, gently ridged and ruffled lobes, which roll back in the mature flower, separated by one or two characteristically deep and wide notches. Early-flowering and below average height.
