Description
TYNDRUM FLAME
3Y/W-YYO(a/b)
[Barrii]
(British origin?)
An interesting, handsome, but bafflingly late-flowering Barrii which seems to be neither ‘Conspicuus’ (perianth segments too slender and spreading), nor ‘Bath’s Flame’ (which flowers consistently earlier). So far we have only found it in two places, one a very old (derelict) cottage garden. Possibly Backhouse’s ‘Siddington’? Perianth reverses to soft sulphur-white.
