Description
‘Therapia’
3W-YYO(b)
[Barrii]
(Brodie, I.; seedling 40/17, ‘Mozart’ × ‘Gallipoli’, listed 1927)
Bearing the name of the Greek goddess of healing, and the revivifying effects of fresh air and sun, this bright and breezy daffodil is just as likely to reflect The Brodie’s WW1 service. Many European countries had embassies in the diplomatic quarter of Pera (Beyoglu) — another Brodie cultivar — and imposing summer residences further north beside the Bosp(h)orus at Therapia (Tarabya).
