‘Pera’ might be regarded as a more refined version of ‘Firetail’, the milk-white perianth segments more rounded and overlapping, with wide, shallow, longitudinal furrows and ridges on opening. A band of rich yellow develops between the dark olive-green eye, extending unevenly along some of the strong pleats of the saucer-shaped corona of oriental-poppy red.
