Description
‘Tresserve’
1Y-Y(a)
[Trumpet]
(Heere Bros, pre-1912)
Perianth smaller, less flamboyant, and soft mimosa, rather than the paler empire yellow of its pollen parent, ‘Emperor’. The elegantly chiselled trumpet is ‘Emperor”s too, but ‘Golden Spur’ adds richer aureolin and a deeply notched rim. The impressive size, presence and widely flared mouth are all its own. Tresserve lies high above the eastern shore of Lac du Bourget in the Rhône-Alpes Region of eastern France, just south of the spa-town Aix-les-Bains.
