Description
‘Sirius’
2W-YYO(b)
[Incomparabilis]
(Lawrenson, Mrs A.L., pre-1897)
Similar to its more widely cultivated, larger-flowered sibling, ‘Lucifer’, but margins of perianth segments retain a faint sulphur tinge, making the rest of the perianth appear whiter than in ‘Lucifer’. Corona colouring fresher too: the orange giving way to rich lemon within. Also, leaves more upright, less floppy. Very rare: apart from those we ourselves have sold, we have only known this from two gardens.
